Piano Moving Gold Coast
Careful piano transport for a new home, a new owner or a new space. Tell us about your instrument and the access at both ends, and we will plan the move around them.
A careful move for an instrument that matters
A piano can hold years of lessons, family memories and favourite songs. Getting it to a new address takes more than finding space in a truck. Its weight, shape and delicate parts all need to be considered, along with the doorways, floors and corners along the way.
Good Mates provides piano moving on the Gold Coast as part of our heavy and specialty item removal service. Whether you are moving house, buying a second-hand piano or passing an instrument on to family, we plan the handling and transport around your piano and both properties.
- Piano type, size and access assessed before the move
- Protective padding and secure fastening for transport
- Careful planning around floors, doorways and tight turns
- Insured transport with cover details available before booking
- Standalone piano moves or part of a house removal
- Gold Coast moves and enquiries for longer-distance transport
Move planned.
From a family upright to your next venue
Every piano and property is different. Share the instrument details and photos of access at both ends so we can confirm the right approach before you book.
Upright piano moving
Moving a family upright to a new home? We assess the piano, the route out and the delivery access, then plan the crew and equipment needed for a controlled move.
Grand & baby grand pianos
Grand pianos need individual planning. Send us the make, model, dimensions and access photos so we can assess the handling requirements and confirm what your move involves.
Piano collection & delivery
Bought a piano from a seller, or sending one to a family member? We can coordinate collection and delivery so everyone knows the plan and the access requirements.
Pianos within a house move
Include your piano in your house removal. Let us know about it when requesting your quote so its handling is planned alongside the rest of your belongings.
Schools, studios & venues
Moving an instrument between teaching rooms, rehearsal spaces or venues? Tell us about opening hours, loading access and where the piano needs to be placed.
Local & interstate transport
We handle local moves and interstate removal enquiries. Tell us the pickup and delivery locations so we can confirm availability, timing and the transport plan for your piano.

Tell us what you are moving and where it needs to go. We will help you work through the details.
What types of pianos can you move?
We can help with piano moving enquiries for upright, grand and baby grand instruments. The handling plan depends on the piano and the access at both properties. Share the make, model, approximate dimensions and photos so we can assess the job and confirm suitability before you book.
How much does piano moving cost?
Your quote depends on the piano’s size and type, the distance, access at each address and any extra handling required. Stairs, long carries and restricted parking can change the scope. Send these details with your enquiry so the quote reflects the actual move.
Can you move a piano up or down stairs?
Stairs, landings, steep driveways and tight corners need to be assessed in advance. Send photos of the full route and tell us how many steps or flights are involved. We will confirm whether the move is suitable and what arrangements are needed before booking.
Can I book a piano move without moving house?
Yes. You can enquire about moving a piano on its own, including collection from a seller or delivery to a family member. It can also be included in a larger house move. Mention the piano at the quoting stage so it is allowed for in the plan.
How do you protect the piano during transport?
We plan the route before moving the instrument, use protective padding and secure it for transport. The handling method is chosen for the piano’s size, shape and access requirements, with attention to the instrument and the property around it.
Is the piano move insured?
Good Mates offers insurance for specialty item transport. Let us know the piano’s value and any existing damage when requesting your quote, and ask us to confirm the applicable cover, limits and exclusions before booking. You can also read our terms and conditions.
What should I do before moving day?
Clear the access route, remove sheet music and loose items from the piano, and arrange parking or loading access at both addresses. Tell us about stairs, lifts and building rules beforehand. Leave lifting, dismantling and moving the instrument to the agreed moving team.
Will my piano need tuning after the move?
An acoustic piano may need a tuning check as it adjusts to the temperature and humidity in its new room. Ask your piano technician when to arrange a check for your instrument. Tuning and technical adjustments should be discussed separately from the transport booking.
Let us take care of the heavy part
Tell us about your piano, the two addresses and your preferred moving date. We will help you plan the next step with a quote tailored to the job.
